PAGER SYSTEM FOR THE DEAF OR HARD OF HEARING

The system will notify the Deaf or Hard of Hearing through a vibrating pager if a front door is opened, or a doorbell is pushed, or if a gate is opened. The belt clip receiver has an alphanumeric display which indicates whether the front door/gate is opened or if someone had pressed the doorbell.

  • Existing Doorbell Button

    HOW TO INSTALL IT:

    1. Locate the doorbell transformer and disconnect the existing doorbell button from its 2 wire transformer connection. This sometimes could be a challenge as the transformer can be located inside the chime or bell enclosure. However, it is often located elsewhere. In newer homes, they are frequently and conveniently located in plain sight, high on a garage wall. Sometimes it’s mounted on a floor joist in the basement, below the doorbell, in a closet, in the attic, or in crawl spaces. In any case, if you know where the doorbell wires are run, trace along them to find the transformer’s location.

    2. Mount the Secopage transmitter in a suitable location. The transmitter is NOT waterproof. Mount indoors, away from possible moisture. Do NOT power the transmitter until all wiring connections had been completed.

    3. Insert the strip antenna’s lead cable into the transmitter’s “ANTENNA” jack. Then using the supplied adhesive tape, secure the antenna to a nearby wall or window, depending on where you get maximum range.

    4. Connect the 2 wires from existing doorbell button to the BLACK and BLACK/WHITE wire of the transmitter. Splice additional wires using 2 conductor hookup wire to lengthen as necessary.

    5. Mount the US401SP magnetic sensor at the front door. Run and connect the 2 conductor hookup wire from the sensor to the transmitter location.

    6. Connect the 2 wires from the magnetic sensor as follows: RED hookup wire to BLUE wire of transmitter, BLACK hookup wire to BLACK wire of transmitter.

    7. Plug the male pigtail connector to the 12VDC power supply. Connect the BLACK wire of the pigtail connector to the BLACK wire of the transmitter. Connect the RED wire of the pigtail connector to the RED wire of the transmitter. Crimp all connections with the gel-filled B connectors.

    8. Plug the 12VDC power supply into a working 120VAC outlet. The Secopage pager system comes pre-programmed from the factory and should not require programming. Refer to the pager system manual for programming additional vibrating pager/receivers. Each receiver can learn up to 3 transmitters.

    SUMMARY

The Secopage Pager System enables a Deaf or Hard of Hearing person to receive a vibrating pager signal when the doorbell is pressed or if the front door (gate) is opened. The pager also beeps and will display which transmitter (up to 3) has sent the page. When a page is received, pressing the ON/OFF button on the pager will display the zone that was triggered (1= front door, 7= Doorbell). Pressing the ON/OFF button once more puts the receiver in a standby state, ready to receive a signal again.

The transmitter is capable of sending a page up to 2 miles when used with a CB antenna. With this capability, you can be up and about the residence and yet be able to monitor if someone’s at the door or if there is any unauthorized access into the home.
