INSTALL A WIRELESS SURVEILLANCE CAMERA AND VIEW THE IMAGE ON YOUR TELEVISIONS

Wireless Camera Surveillance, Modulation, and Distribution
This project allows you to install a wireless surveillance camera and view the image on televisions located throughout your house. The camera is an easy-to-install wireless unit which eliminates having to run a video cable between it and a TV video input. The modulator converts the video signal from the camera and converts it to an RF TV-viewable channel. After completing the project any TV that can tune to the modulated channel can now be used to view the camera image. The 2x6 video module combines the incoming CATV signal with the modulated channel for amplified RF distribution to up to six televisions.

    MORE EQUIPMENT INFORMATION:
The TekLink OutdoorWatch Wireless Security Color Camera is a night vision and audio-capable camera. It consists of a wireless camera, a receiver, and accessories. The camera is affordably priced, easy to install, and provides loss prevention and security. The camera has a sunshade for reducing sun reflection for outdoor installations, a wall-mount bracket for adjustable viewing angles, 26 Infrared LED’s for night vision up to 45 feet (image changes from color to B/W with darkness), a weatherproof housing, and a built-in 2.4 GHz transmitter for transmitting video wirelessly to your TV (or modulator) up to 300 feet away. The receiver is capable of supporting up to four cameras.

The Cabletronix Digital Agile Modulator is a cost-effective single-channel modulator which converts a video signal, in this case the output of the wireless camera’s receiver, into a TV-viewable RF channel. The modulator creates a user-selected TV channel where the camera image and audio can be seen and heard. Modulating the video signal also allows for easy distribution of the RF channel to multiple televisions.

The OnQ Enhanced 2x6 Video Module is used for RF signal distribution for up to six televisions. The 2x6 has two inputs; one for CATV (or antenna) and the other for the modulated signal. The 2x6 combines the modulated channel with the CATV channels. The 2x6 has a built-in amplifier which allows for equal signal strength throughout all six output ports.

    HOW TO INSTALL IT:

TekLink OutdoorWatch Wireless Security Color Camera

    1. Mount the camera in the desired location.
    2. Locate a nearby 110 VAC outlet. If there is no nearby outlet, extend the length of cable between the power supply and camera power connector. Observe polarity. Power up the camera.
    3. For initial testing, install the camera receiver near a TV. Connect the video output of the receiver to the video input of the TV. Power up the camera receiver and observe the camera image when the TV source is set to “Video Input.”
    4. Adjust antennas on both camera and receiver for best picture.
    5. After testing, relocate the camera receiver next to the Digital Agile Modulator.

    Digital Agile Modulator

    1. Connect the audio and video output of the camera receiver to the A/V input of the modulator.
    2. For initial testing, connect a coaxial cable from the RF output of the modulator to the RF input of the TV. Set the TV source for “CATV Input.”
    3. Power up the modulator.
    4. For the purpose of this application, it is assumed that the TV can be tuned to channel 120. Set Mode to “Standard” and use the UP/DOWN buttons to select “120.”
    5. The camera image can now be seen on channel 120.
    6. Adjust antennas on both camera and receiver for the best picture.
    7. After testing, disconnect coaxial cable from the modulator RF output.

    2x6 Enhanced Video Module

    1. Locate and install the 2x6 Enhanced Video Module near the modulator and incoming CATV feed.
    2. Connect the incoming CATV feed to the “Cable In” of the video module.
    3. Connect the RF Output of the modulator to the “Aux In” of the video module.
    4. Connect the TV to any one of the six RF outputs of the video module.
    5. Power up the video module.
    6. The television can now view the CATV channels and the camera image on channel 120.
    7. Connect up to five more TVs to the remaining ports on the video module.

    SUMMARY

After completing the project you will be able to view images from your wireless camera on televisions throughout your house. The 2x6 video module combines the incoming CATV signal with the modulated channel for amplified RF distribution to up to six televisions.
