REMOTE
CONTROL OF YOUR UPB LIGHTS
Any TV Learning Remote Also Controls Your
Lighting
The project will allow you to use your IR remote control (any learning
remote) to turn ON/OFF or dim/brighten UPB controlled dimmer switches.
It is most useful in home theatre applications where lights are
required to be dimmed at a specific ramp rate.
The Simply Automated 8 Button UPB Transmitter (Wall mounted or
Desktop) has pushbuttons that are fully configurable. Each pushbutton
can transmit a different UPB command that the designer/installer
specifies, for each of four events: single tap, double tap, hold
and release. The PCS brand transmitter also has an IR receiver port
that works with the PCS IR controller. This credit card sized device
reproduces the buttons on the front of the controller and allows
up to four separate “IR Remote” addresses so that up
to four remotes could be used in the same room without interfering
with each other. The IR codes can be easily learned and stored into
more sophisticated programmable IR remote controls.
The Simply Automated Transceiver Switches will replace existing
switches for lights to be controlled in the room in your home.

is done through the UPStart software and SAUMCDB9W computer interface
module (CIM).
- Connect the CIM to an available PC serial port and open UPStart software.
- From the UPStart Menu, click Device, Add. Choose WMC6 Wall mount controller
but do not click Next yet.

mode by pressing and holding the ON and OFF buttons for 3 seconds. All
the LED’s will start to blink. Click Next. Assign Desktop controller
to the first available UPB unit ID (Default Unit ID is 3).

ON- Link 001 (100%), Buttons A, B, C, D - Link 003 (80% Dim), 004 (60%
Dim), 005 (40% Dim), 006 (20% Dim) respectively, OFF – Link 002
(0%), UP- Bright, DOWN-Dim.
