CONTROL YOUR HOME OVER THE INTERNET!
STARGATE INTERNET SOFTWARE
The Web-Xpander is a serial (RS-232) to ethernet module with embedded web pages that allow monitoring and control of STARGATE and other controllers via the internet and/or local network.
Adjust your home's thermostat, check the security system, turn on/off lights, etc... from anywhere in the world!
If your home network has a wireless link (access point), you can enjoy wireless control from your portable pocket pc, webpad or notebook computer!

Stargate Web-Xpander and Internet Software features:
Easy User Interface
Web-Xpander's built-in web pages provide an easy to use, point-and-click user interface which can be viewed and operated from any browser (Internet Explorer, Netscape, etc.). Direct access buttons let you navigate through the control menus for Lighting, A/V, Security, HVAC, X-10, Digital Inputs, Analog Inputs, Relays, Timers, Flags, Variables, Ascii, History, Msg Log, Tel Log. Each menu lists devices by their defined names with buttons that display status and provide control. The "Lighting" menu, for example, lists the defined X-10 lights by name with On, Off, Idle buttons that provide direct control and indicate status. The "X-10" button takes you to the familiar "MegaController" menu which lets you monitor status and control all 256 X-10 addresses on a single screen.
Installs in seconds!
The Web-Xpander mounts just above the Stargate Telephone/IVR "daughter" board using two metal standoffs (included). It can also be mounted above the main board of a Stargate-Lite in a similar fashion.
The RS-232 "PC" port connects to your pc com port.
The RS-232 "Controller" port connects to STARGATE's Com-1 port via an included modular data cable. (Since your pc and the Web-Xpander both share Stargate's Com-1 port, Stargate's Com-2 and Com-3 are still available for connecting other serial devices.)
The ethernet port connects to your network router using a standard ethernet cable.
The power terminals connect to STARGATE's on-board 12vdc supply.
E-Mail Support
With the Web-Xpander, your STARGATE can be programmed to send email messages in response to any set of conditions. If your cell phone or PDA is equipped to receive email messages, you can have STARGATE automatically notify you when your security system status changes (armed, disarmed, alarm, etc.), temperatures get to high or low, or even simple reminders such as "Take your medication!"
Clock Synchronization
The Web-Xpander can be configured to automatically synchronize your STARGATE's internal clock daily via the internet to maintain an accurate time setting.
Database Import Utility
The Web-Xpander setup software includes a utility that copies your STARGATE databases (X-10, IR, hvac, security, I-O, flags, variables) from your pc and loads them into the Web-Xpander's memory. This allows all your STARGATE system devices to be identified by their defined names ("Living Room Light", "Garage Door", etc.) without having to retype them.
Download Schedules via the Internet
An optional software utility called "COM/IP" can be downloaded off the internet to create a virtual serial port / modem on your PC that when “dialed” actually makes a connection over the network. Once configured, you can use the WinEVM “Dial PC Modem” function to connect to the STARGATE via the Web Xpander. WinEVM communicates through the virtual modem port created by COM/IP and functions as if you are connected to a STARGATE over a modem connection. All features, including schedule downloads, are possible in this configuration.
Downloadable Firmware Updates
An included Network Firmware Download Utility program allows the Web-Xpander firmware to be updated over your network without the need to replace eproms or power down the STARGATE system. This enables new features to be added to your Web-Xpander by simply downloading free files posted on the WebX Download page.
The Stargate Web-Xpander and Internet Software comes with the following:
One Web-Xpander circuit board (4.5" W x 2.0" H)
One short modular data cable
One each Red/Black power wires
Two M/F stand-offs
