RIS features a series of multi-day day training courses that gives practical training on residential automation and networking, including the five phases of selling, designing, costing, installation and customer training necessary for a typical automation and networking project. RIS Marketing, Sales, Client Management and Business Development Course:

RIS Design and Hands-on Technical Course:

By the end of this course, you will have a very good overview and specific training on how to sell and physically install select automation, networking and entertainment systems.

I just attended the Residential Integrator School hosted by Home Controls, Inc. and AVD Media in San Diego California. This class covers every aspect of the sales process that leads up doing an installation [and] hands-on training covering Security, Lighting, Temperature, Audio, Video, and Control solutions. Students have the opportunity to work with systems from HAI, OnQ Legrand, Simply Automated, and Nuvo over the course of the program. This course is a great place to get started or to brush up on some of your skills with experts on hand to answer any questions.
