The LM2-8 Dual Channel Lamp Module is a high quality plug-in home automation lamp dimmer that is capable of transmitting and receiving digital commands and status over the existing powerlines.
Perfect for master bedrooms and living rooms where there are two lamps that need to be remotely controlled.
Operation
Simply plug the LM2 into any standard wall outlet and plug the lamp(s) into the LM2's two bottom controlled outlets. The LM2 is designed for controlling incandescent, fluorescent, or magnetic low voltage loads. It can provide as much as 800W of power at any one time split between the two channels. The dimmer function can also be disabled, turning the outlets into a switch, to allow the LM2 to turn on and off non-dimmable loads such as fans or radios. The LM2 also has two pass-through outlets for plugging in vacuums, computers, and other devices that do not require remote control.
Receives From the Powerline
The LM2 will accept powerline commands from any UPB-compatible transmitter such as the PulseWorx Keypad Controllers, Timed Event Controller, Interface Modules, Approved Third-Party Controllers, Touch Screens, and WS1s. Each channel of the LM2 can be a member of up to 16 Links/scenes with the capability to store a pre-set level from 0 to 100% and one of 16 fade rates (Snap to 1 Hour) for each scene. Each pre-set light level can easily be adjusted by the homeowner using the innovative PulseWorx manual programming method.
Lamp Switch Triggers
Lamp switch trigger circuits allow the LM2 to turn on the lamp when its local on/off switch is opened and then closed. This is a great feature for reading lamps when you don't want to have to find a controller to turn your lamp on.
Transmits to the Powerline
The LM2 can be configured to transmit status changes and inform the rest of the network when its lamp switch trigger has turned the lamp on or off. This allows the LM2 to remotely control other devices or update indicators (LEDs on our keypads).
Easy To Configure
Like all PulseWorx devices, the LM2 can be initially configured using PCS's free UPStart Setup Software tool. UPStart enables configuring such parameters as Network Name, Network ID, Unit ID, Room name, Device name, default on light levels, fade rates, LED colors, dimming disable, auto shut-off time, etc. as well as test the operation and communication strength of the device. UPStart has the option to configure an entire network off-line and then download the information into the devices after they are installed in the home.
PULSEWORX LIGHTING CONTROL SYSTEM
The Lamp Dimmer Module is designed to be an integral part of a complete PulseWorx Lighting Control System. Like all PulseWorx devices, the LM2 uses the patented UPB™ powerline communication technology (invented by PCS) to reliably communicate with any other UPB-compatible device(s) over the existing house electrical wires. No new wires are necessary making PulseWorx perfect for retrofit situations. When initial configuration is complete, a single push of a button is all you need to activate any group of lights (or virtually anything else that connects to AC power wiring) throughout the house simultaneously.
