Tripp Lite's PDUMV15 Metered Power Distribution Unit offers 15 amp, 120V multi-outlet AC power distribution in a convenient 48-inch mountable housing. Digital current meter displays the power consumption of connected equipment. Offers vertical power distribution in rackmount, raceway, and workbench applications. Includes 16 NEMA 5-15R output receptacles, 15 ft. AC line cord, and lighted power switch with locking transparent cover to prevent accidental shutoff. Sturdy all-metal extruded aluminum housing stands up to demanding network, laboratory, or factory environments. Unfiltered electrical pass-through makes the PDUMV15 ideal for distributing alternate waveform UPS or generator power in rack enclosures, network closets and more. TRIPP LITE POWER DISTRIBUTION UNITS
A Power Distribution Unit (PDU) is a highly reliable, multiple outlet power strip designed to deliver conditioned power to mission-critical networking, server or telecom equipment. It is often used in conjunction with an uninterruptible power supply (UPS).
In a networking environment, devices need to be powered continuously, either from a whole site generator or rack mounted UPS power source, and since many networking devices in use today are fitted with dual redundant power inputs, the total plug count can approach 80 or more—with many requiring two power sources to further mitigate the risk of power failure.
