LIFETONE HL BEDSIDE FIRE ALARM AND CLOCK

EFFECTIVE ENOUGH EVEN FOR HEARING IMPAIRED

The Lifetone HL Bedside Fire Alarm and Clock features smoke alarm technology that could save your life and the lives of your loved ones in a nighttime fire. This State-of-the-art bedside fire alarm system is specifically designed to be effective and safe in waking people up - and it's affordable too!

The Lifetone HL Bedside Fire Alarm and Clock ("Lifetone HL Fire Alarm") is an assistive alerting device intended for use in a residence by individuals with hearing loss or the deaf during a quiet environment and which is placed next to a bed or usual nighttime sleeping area. The Lifetone HL Fire Alarm will detect the T3 emergency signal given by existing, properly placed UL 217-listed smoke alarms and, when detected, will give its own emergency signal at a lower frequency (520 Hz), which may be heard by individuals with hearing loss in their beds. The product also gives its emergency signals visually through a display screen and through a tactile Bed Shaker, either of which may be detected by Deaf individuals in their beds. The Lifetone HL Fire Alarm is not intended for use in marine watercraft, recreational vehicles ("RV"), mobile homes, or hospitals.

Note: Lifetone HL is not a replacement for your current smoke alarm, but rather works in conjunction with it.

Features

  • Uses the alarms proven in research sponsored by the US Fire Administration as most effective for waking people
  • Works with your existing working smoke alarms – no installation, no wiring required
  • Needs nothing but a power outlet; plug it in, run it through a quick test to synchronize it with your smoke alarms, and it is instantly on duty
  • Battery backup lasts 7 days or more while still providing emergency alarm signals (batteries are included)
  • Big, easy-to-read display also alerts you if there is a power outage (or low batteries, and even if the bed shaker is disconnected)
  • Can be used as daily alarm clock (the wake-up alarm is at a lower, non-emergency volume)
  • Comes with the optional bed shaker for added protection
  • Attractive, high quality case design and neutral color complement any décor
  • Needs very little room: 8-1/2" L x 5" W x 4" H
  • The only UL listed 520 Hz Fire Safety Alarm and Bed Shaker

WHO CAN BENEFIT?

Anyone concerned about nighttime fire safety can have greater peace of mind with the Lifetone HL Bedside Fire Alarm and Clock in their home. However there are certain people who face more danger from nighttime fires because they are less likely – sometimes much less likely – to be awakened by a standard smoke alarm signal:

Children
Children generally sleep more deeply than adults and are therefore less likely to wake up to a standard smoke alarm.

Heavy Sleepers
Not surprisingly, anyone who is an especially heavy sleeper (including those who tend to fall asleep under the influence of alcohol) will also face higher risk in a nighttime fire.

Seniors
Seniors face special risk for two reasons: they are much more like to have some level of hearing loss and they generally have reduced mobility, increasing the time they need to escape a fire.

People with Hearing Loss
People with hearing loss will have a harder time hearing the high frequency sound of a smoke alarm. Sadly, the special strobe-light alarms often used for those with moderate to severe hearing loss are simply ineffective at waking them up.
