A Vizia RF + Programming device or ThinkEssentials Professional Edition Software is required as a programming tool for the setup of a Leviton Vizia RF + network. Leviton incorporates beneficial system features that can only be accessed when using one of these devices. Benefits include the ability to create and operate scheduled events using clock enabled devices, extended system testing and system optimization techniques.
Once a Vizia RF + network is installed and programmed, the handheld remote controller (VRCPG) can also be used as a wireless controller to activate events and control the system. For full functionality of the Vizia RF + Network, at least one Leviton recommended programming device should be used. Each programming device creates a unique Z-Wave home ID that is assigned to each device in a network.
The RF Handheld Remote Controller Programmer uses the Z-Wave RF protocol to control other Z-Wave enabled devices, including, but not limited to, in-wall dimmers, switches and plug-in dimming and appliance modules.
