X10 SIGNAL COUPLER WITH BUILT-IN TEST SIGNAL GENERATOR

This X10 coupler/repeater performs a variety of functions to ensure outstanding DHC system performance and reliability. Couples transmitter (programmer and controller) signals generated on the 120V leg where the transmitter draws power onto the other leg in a 120/240V single-phase 3-wire residential wiring system.

The LVHCA02 also amplifies and repeats X10 command signals to maintain proper signal strength through the DHC system. Green pilot light indicates unit has power. Lamp will indicate when an X10 signal is being transmitted. Features Intellisense™ Technology to help ensure top performance even when noise is present on the AC power-line. The error lamp indicates the Intellisense feature is activated. The unit provides convenient test signal transmission for easy signal strength verification at individual DHC module locations.

GOOD COMMAND SIGNAL STRENGTH

Coupler/repeaters assure sufficient signal strength throughout 2-Wire systems. The HCA02 described above amplifies the command signal onto both 120 volt legs of the power system to ensure good command signal strength throughout larger homes. The wiring diagram (.pdf below) shows the proper method for installation in a typical residential 120/240V and 120/208V power system.

• NOTE: LVHCA02 must be installed in all panels in every HCCXX series DHC installation to ensure adequate signal strength.
  
• This should be installed at the main panel on its own dedicated 15A breaker in accordance with NEC requirements
  
• Cannot be used in a 3-phase system.
  
• System Amplifier recommended for all DHC installations to ensure adequate command signal strength.
  
• Panel-Mounted Surge Protective Device recommended for all DHC installations to protect DHC circuitry from damaging high-energy transient voltage surges.
