Fluorescent light ballasts, and mercury, sodium vapor and metal halide types of lighting often generate lots of noise when turned off. This noise can play havoc with X10 signals in your home. The Leviton Noise Block effectively eliminates this unwanted noise. Electronic ballasts deteriorate with age and begin causing problems months or years after their installation. Prevent problems down the road by installing noise blocks. The Noise Block wires to the LOAD side of the Leviton 6291 Appliance Wall Switch or onto the LINE side of any fixture using an electronic ballast or any other noise generating source.
