HAI UPB AUXILIARY SWITCH


HAI's UPB COMPATIBLE SWITCHES

The Auxiliary Switch is used in conjunction with HLC switches for multi-way lighting circuits. It can be used with any HLC Switch to make "three-way" (two switches control one light) and multi-way (more than two switches control one light) using conventional "three-way" wiring techniques. Each HAI Auxiliary Switch has a Decora-style rocker switch that controls the lighting load in the exact same manner as the Decora-style rocker switch on the connected HAI UPB™ Wall Switch.

The Auxiliary switch comes with equipped with a multi-color LED indicator that may be set to off, blue, red, or magenta, depending on how the switch is wired. If the switch is wired to use the LED, it will always remain on with the hard-wired color, regardless if switch is on or off.

The Auxiliary Switch works with other HAI Products, including Scene Switches, House Status Switches, and Home Control Systems to provide sophisticated lighting control.

The default color for the Auxiliary Switch is White. Switch Color Change Kits are available in (HA35A14-XX) White (WH), Ivory (IV), Almond (AL), Light Almond (LTA), Brown (BR), Grey (GR), and Black (BL) colors.



UPB HOME LIGHTING CONTROL SIMPLIFIED!

All HLC products are UL Listed and use Universal Powerline Bus (UPB™), a digital communications standard for lighting and home control that ensures superior reliability. UPB™ has been extensively tested and researched in residential environments and found to be 99.9% reliable. UPB™ works over existing wires in a home and does not require new wiring.

HLC provides lighting control either room by room or for the whole house. HLC "smart switches" and room controllers provide modular options; set elegant lighting scenes for each room, adding as needs change. HLC "smart" switches and room controllers let you easily set elegant lighting scenes for each room, without the use of complicated software programs. The HLC product line replaces standard "on/off" lighting switches, and gives you the option of saving specific lighting configurations or "scenes" according to time of day or occasion.

With the HAI house controllers, indoor and outdoor lighting can be coordinated and set by schedule, time of day, or event. Have the front door and driveway lights come on at dusk, have all lights come on in the event of a security alarm or fire, set graceful landscape lighting scenes or stylish indoor lighting scenes for entertaining or daily enjoyment.

Requirements:

• Requires a neutral (white) connection wire.
• If you are using an HAI home control system with your switch you must install a UPB™ PIM & cable (HA36A001).
• If you are using the HAI Upstart Configuration software you must install an UPB™ PIM & cable (HA36A001) and a cable to connect your PIM to a computer (HA36A052).

Switch Operation:

• Single-Tap / Top Rocker: Brightens the light towards fully on
• Single-Tap / Bottom Rocker: Fades the light to fully off
• Double-Tap / Top Rocker: Snaps the light to fully on
• Double-Tap / Bottom Rocker: Snaps the light to fully off
• Hold / Top Rocker: Starts brightening the light towards fully on
• Hold / Bottom Rocker: Starts dimming the light towards fully off
• Release / Top Rocker: Stops brightening the light
• Release / Bottom Rocker: Stops dimming the light

Recommendation:

• A Phase Coupler (HA39A001) is recommended for every HAI Lighting Control (HLC) installation
