The Scene Switch is also known as a Room Controller. It controls all lights in a room or area. Lights may be turned on, off, dimmed, brightened, and set to four different scenes to provide limitless options for both security and aesthetic lighting in your home. The HLC Scene Switch now comes with infrared capability. Additionally, an accompanying hand held ultra thin remote is coming soon (HA38A141).
The Scene Switch is an optional device in an HLC installation. It is capable of controlling up to 7 UPB™ switches. Scene Switches may act as standalone devices to create simple lighting control for homeowners who do not desire a home control system. Set up is easy. No home control system or software is required for you to setup your lighting scenes on a Scene Switch. The 4 scenes on a Scene Switch are easily set by first pressing the Scene Switch button that is to remember the scene, then setting the lights it controls to the desired levels, and then quickly pressing the same Scene Switch button 5 times in a row. The buttons glow dimly to act as a night-light. The last activated button glows brightly using a blue color. You may change the intensity, but not the color, of the LED on a Scene Switch, by using the HAI UPB™ UPStart configuration software
When you add an HAI Omni or a Lumina Home Control System to your HLC installation you gain the ability to change your light settings by the time of day, set schedule, by the triggering of events (including motion), via a telephone call, Touchscreen, or by a computer connected to the Internet. When a Home Control System is installed a Scene Switch button may be programmed to run a series of commands, such as setting lighting levels and changing drapery levels.
The default color for a Scene Switch is White. Scene Switch Color Change Kits are available in (HA38A04-XX) White (WH), Ivory (IV), Almond (AL), Light Almond (LTA), Brown (BR), Grey (GR), and Black (BL) colors.
The buttons may be custom laser engraved with their room names using HA38A062.

All HLC products are UL Listed and use Universal Powerline Bus (UPB™), a digital communications standard for lighting and home control that ensures superior reliability. UPB™ has been extensively tested and researched in residential environments and found to be 99.9% reliable. UPB™ works over existing wires in a home and does not require new wiring.
HLC provides lighting control either room by room or for the whole house. HLC "smart switches" and room controllers provide modular options; set elegant lighting scenes for each room, adding as needs change. HLC "smart" switches and room controllers let you easily set elegant lighting scenes for each room, without the use of complicated software programs. The HLC product line replaces standard "on/off" lighting switches, and gives you the option of saving specific lighting configurations or "scenes" according to time of day or occasion.
With the HAI house controllers, indoor and outdoor lighting can be coordinated and set by schedule, time of day, or event. Have the front door and driveway lights come on at dusk, have all lights come on in the event of a security alarm or fire, set graceful landscape lighting scenes or stylish indoor lighting scenes for entertaining or daily enjoyment.

Requirements: - Requires a neutral (white) connection wire.
- If you are using an HAI home control system with your switch you must install a UPB™ PIM & cable (HA36A001).
- If you are using the HAI Upstart Configuration software you must install an UPB™ PIM & cable (HA36A001) and a cable to connect your PIM to a computer (HA36A052).
Scene Switch Operation (Event : What Happens): - Single-Tap On: Brightens the lights towards fully on
- Double-Tap On: Snaps the lights to fully on
- Hold Down On: Lights will slowly brighten until On button is released
- Tap A: Changes light levels to what is configured for the scene associated with this button
- Tap B: Changes light levels to what is configured for the scene associated with this button
- Tap C: Changes light levels to what is configured for the scene associated with this button
- Tap D: Changes light levels to what is configured for the scene associated with this button
