GRANDCARE HOMEBASE
INTERACTIVE AGING-IN-PLACE TOUCHSCREEN
The GrandCare Homebase Touchscreen provides advanced communication, cognition and ADL monitoring features for active seniors. It combines aspects of home automation, online communications and healthcare in one flexible, user-friendly and affordable package.
Placed in a convenience location within the home, the touchscreen is connected to the Internet. The system then provides a continuous display of information to the monitor. Using the web-based GC-Manager, family can send pictures, messages, reminders, calendar appointments, audio clips and more. They can also choose to display optional features, including stock photos, weather updates, headline news, spiritual offerings, word definitions and thought-provoking quotations.
The rugged touchscreen allows advanced interactive features. Loved ones can search the Internet, play trivia and card games, listen to music, view caller ID (requires Caller ID Modem, sold separately), review an in-depth calendar of events, interact with video conferencing, check email and much more.
When a loved one's medical and physical conditions require enhanced attention, family members and caregivers can expand the system with activity and wellness monitoring and alerts. The V4 touchscreen communicates with a wide range of unobtrusive sensors (using wireless X10 and Z-Wave, sold separately) and wellness devices (using wireless Bluetooth, sold separately), which monitors activities of daily living and wellness. Monitor door openings, blood pressure, weight, medications, wake-ups and more. The system can then be accessed by family and caregivers using the web-based GC-Manager to assess the wellness and safety of the resident. The system can also be instructed to send an alert email, text message or phone call to caregivers if something is amiss.
