The GrandCare COMO Box System offers the most comprehensive and feature packed communication and monitoring system on the market today. It combines aspects of home automation, online communications and healthcare in one flexible, user-friendly and affordable package.

The GrandCare COMO Box is a central unit (very similar in size to a DVR box), and is connected to both a TV and the Internet. The system then provides a continuous display of information to a loved one’s television set. Using the web-based GC-Manager, family can send pictures, messages, reminders, calendar appointments, audio clips and more to a dedicated channel on their loved one's television screen. They can also choose to display optional features on the television, including stock photos, weather updates, headline news, caller ID information (requires Caller ID Modem, sold separately), spiritual offerings, word definitions and thought-provoking quotations.

When a loved one's medical condition requires enhanced attention, family members and caregivers can expand their GrandCare COMO Box System with activity and wellness monitoring and alerts. The unit communicates with a wide range of unobtrusive sensors (using wireless X10 and Z-Wave, sold separately) and wellness devices (using wireless Bluetooth, sold separately), which monitors activities of daily living and wellness. Monitor door openings, blood pressure, weight, medications, wake-ups and more. The system can then be accessed by family and caregivers using the web-based GC-Manager to assess the wellness and safety of the resident. The system can also be instructed to send an alert email, text message or phone call to caregivers if something is amiss.
