DAKOTA ALERT MURS WIRELESS VEHICLE DETECTION KIT – BASE STATION RADIO KIT INCLUDES ONE MAPS TRANSMITTER AND ONE M538-BS TRANSCEIVER MURS Alert™ Probe Sensor (MAPS)
The MURS Alert Probe Sensor is a long-range wireless driveway alarm that alerts
you when a vehicle enters your driveway. The MURS Alert Probe Sensor combines
the features of the vehicle sensor drive alert with MURS Alert technology for
optimum performance.
When the MURS Alert detects a vehicle, it sends an alert signal to the
transceiver. Alert signals are in spoken English and twice repeats one of the
following phrases: "Alert Zone One", "Alert Zone Two", "Alert
Zone Three", or "Alert Zone Four". The four alert messages are
easily selected at the transmitter, so that up to four different zones can be
monitored simultaneously. The MURS Probe is very reliable and does not send
false signals from large animals or other sources.
The MURS Alert Probe Sensor transmitter has 5 channels and 38 sub-channels
to choose from, helping to eliminate interference from other users. The
channels, sub-channels and alert zones are all easily selected by the user. The
probe is connected to the transmitter box with 50 feet of direct burial cable.
This allows for a more covert installation.
The MURS transmitter’s range is up to several miles away from the hand-held
or base station radios. This extended range helps you monitor areas that are
otherwise too far away for reasonable monitoring.
Two-Way MURS Base Station Radio (M538-BS)
The M538-BS is a base station MURS transceiver that receives alert signals
from the MURS Alert transmitter and can also be used for two-way voice
communications between other MURS transceivers. The BS has five channels and 38
sub-channels to help you communicate with other users. The BS can communicate
over several miles.*
When an alert signal is received from the MURS Alert™ transmitter, the BS sounds
an alert signal and displays an alert icon as a visual cue that the signal has
been received. In addition, the M538-BS is equipped with a normally open (N/O)
relay output that can be used to connect the base station to other existing
systems such as alarm panels or doorbells. Anyone who needs real-time
monitoring and two-way voice communication will benefit from MURS.
The base station can also be used to communicate with the M538-HT hand-held
radio. This allows someone in the house to stay in direct contact with someone
outside. This allows a parent to keep track of the kids, or a supervisor to
stay in touch with their employees.
The FCC allows you to use MURS without a license. Although other radio
services require a license, MURS is license-free.
The MURS Probe operates on 6 AA alkaline batteries. The
battery life should be about six months under most conditions. The M538-BS is
powered by a plug-in transformer.
